Kilns

I began learning how to build kilns in 1997-98 while working with Lisa Stinson at Louisiana Tech University, in Ruston Louisiana. In the years following, I worked on many kiln projects, gaining more knowledge and hands on experience. For a time I designed and built kilns professionally, mainly for other potters and group studios. From around 2002 - 2019 I built many kilns throughout the country, including Hawaii.

My projects include, sprung arch gas and soda kilns, catenary arch-Noborigama wood kilns, Bourry Box wood/salt kilns and car kilns. Below are some examples.
