I began this year by traveling to Whidbey Island, WA in February to build the new kiln for Cook on Clay, a women owned company run by Robbie Lobell and Maryon Atwood. They make ceramic cookware (flameware) that is sophisticated and gorgeous. If you don’t know about these ladies and the pots they make, check them out! It was great fun working with them and their awesome apprentices, Clovy and Jordan. Many thanks goes out to all who were involved in this kiln, especially Vince Pitelka for providing the initial plans and Al Tennant for his insight on various details. It was a memorable and positive experience for me indeed. Here is what the project looked like.
